Project Type: Loft Conversion

We’re nearing completion of a loft conversion to a late 1800s terraced house, creating a new usable space within the existing roof. Main works were completed over a 5-week programme.

The project included a full re-roof, replacing the original asbestos cement slates with natural Brazilian grey-green slate, more in keeping with the age and character of the property. A new dormer was formed to increase head height, natural light, and overall usable space.

Structural steelwork was introduced to achieve the required loadings and support the revised layout.

A new balcony was added, finished with stainless steel handrails and glass panels for a simple, modern detail.

All works were carried out externally via scaffold, allowing the house to remain fully operational throughout.

The result is a straightforward, well-integrated conversion that adds space and function without losing the feel of the original building.
